Living with scoliosis involves navigating various challenges, impacting both physical well-being and daily activities.
Scoliosis treatment is most effective in individuals still growing, typically 16 or younger. If more than a mild case, not addressing scoliosis during this time will result in lifelong imbalances, pain, and potentially internal issues.
At Orthotic & Prosthetic Clinics of America (OPCA), we understand the importance of spinal health and wellness.
That’s why we offer tailored Scoliosis Bracing solutions designed for comfort and effectiveness, empowering your journey to spinal wellness.
Our interventions aim to alleviate the interference of back pain and future health problems, comprehensively addressing scoliosis during the critical growth phase to promote a healthier and more balanced life.
At Orthotic & Prosthetic Clinics of America (OPCA), our skilled orthotists meticulously craft each orthosis, seamlessly transforming it into an extension of your body. This personalized approach promotes a straighter posture, safe movement, and supports the healing process.
As part of our commitment to tailored care, we often utilize the Boston Brace for daytime wear and the Providence brace for nighttime wear. While the provider’s preference is typically prioritized, we understand that patient compliance is essential. In cases where daytime wear isn’t feasible, and upon the doctor’s approval, we can accommodate requests for nocturnal brace usage.
Recognizing that each individual is unique, we believe in custom-fitted solutions.
Our Scoliosis Braces are meticulously tailored to the patient’s specific needs, with a focus on delivering support precisely where it’s needed. Whether for nighttime or daytime wear, we offer personalized designs to enhance posture and promote optimal spinal alignment.
From a medical standpoint, the primary objective of our orthoses is to prevent the worsening of curvature. Especially for those with spinal curvatures between 20-40 degrees, our goal is to intervene to prevent surgery and decrease the progression of the curve.
While we often observe a notable correction in the process, our emphasis is on halting further deterioration, particularly for individuals with limited growth potential and more severe conditions.
Scoliosis should never impede an active lifestyle.
Specializing in both day-time and nocturnal bracing solutions, we collaborate closely with renowned manufacturers such as Boston Brace and Spinal Technologies.
The choice between these options is tailored to the severity of the curve, as prescribed by your doctor.
The custom-made Boston brace is designed for day-long wear, easily concealable under basic clothing. While not suitable for intensive physical activities, it can be conveniently removed for such activities and effortlessly put back on afterward.
If your doctor prescribes a nocturnal brace, we recommend the Providence brace, worn exclusively at night. This option works by overcorrecting the curvature, eliminating the need for daytime wear scheduling.
